Nearly 60 years of development and investment have made Bontempi Vibo an international leader in the field of advanced industrial fasteners-producing more than 25,000 tons of screws and 1 billion parts per year-while still maintaining the characteristics of a family business, including personal style.

Bontempi Vibo CEO Raoul Bontempi explained: “Since my father founded the company in a small workshop in Berzo Inferiore, Italy in 1961, we have always maintained the same passion for product quality and ensured to provide our customers with reliable Service. Because of our commitment to family spirit, we are able to establish long-term partnerships with customers, which is the key to our success."

Bontempi Vibo offers a wide range of screws and bolts, specializing in the production of carbon steel and stainless steel cold-forged hexagonal and internal hexagonal fasteners with diameters of M5 to M36, and provides a variety of high-quality surface coatings.

After Bontempi acquired FRAM Srl at the end of 2019 and integrated it into a single organizational structure, the company has three production plants in Rodengo-Saiano, Calabritto and now Bellusco.

Starting in 2020, under the name Bontempi Vibo, Bellusco's production facilities will be hot forged in lengths of more than 300 mm and diameters up to M64. In this modern, high-spec production plant there are also three latest generation screw presses with induction preheating, three rollers and a testing laboratory.

"Customer needs are constantly changing, and we must be on top of it. It is this strategy of continuously expanding the product range that prompted us to establish FRAM three years ago," Raoul Bontempi commented. "The establishment of this company actually brought us back to my father's hot foundation."

FRAM was originally created to add expertise in the manufacture of hot forged bolts to Bontempi's existing extensive cold forming capabilities. "As a company, we want to continue to grow and achieve the highest customer satisfaction, which is why we have included FRAM in the Bontempi Group. We will now continue to lead the fastener industry in cold forming and hot forging-both in the name of Bontempi ," Raoul Bontempi pointed out.

While making these changes internally, it is also important for Bontempi to retain the expertise and experience in FRAM. Marco Polato, the co-founder of FRAM, is now the commercial director of Bontempi Group to help grow the business. This is not the only change in the management of the group. Bontempi Vibo sales manager Vittoriano Calomeni (Vittoriano Calomeni) has served as the new general manager for more than 15 years.

The Rodengo Saiano factory is located at Bontempi's headquarters in Brescia, where the sales, purchasing and administrative offices, as well as logistics, IT systems and management teams are also located. The factory is set up to continuously produce different types of screws and bolts, ranging in diameter from 12 mm to 36 mm. The Group's central automated warehouse with more than 15,000 pallet positions is also located at the same location.

"The only way to compete with global players is to automate," said Bontempi's general manager Vittoriano Calomeni. "So in 2009, a fully automated warehouse with 15,000 pallet spaces was completed, and there was room for expansion."

Vittoriano continued: “We are very proud of what the Bontempi Group has achieved. Ten years ago, when market conditions were extremely turbulent, Bontempi was investing. The most important thing is that we maintain this level of investment and commitment so that we not only Compete at the European level and globally."

Raoul Bontempi added: “The warehouse itself is our main advantage in global competition. It allows us to have a wide range of products and strengthen our position in the market. The service we provide to our customers is the key, and our time to market is a A huge selling point."

Bontempi also invested in its second factory in Calabritto, which is equipped with cold forged hex head screws and hexagon socket screws with diameters ranging from 6 mm to 12 mm. "The plant's recent investments include the installation of a new modern heat treatment line with a capacity of up to 1,500 kg/h, as well as new machines that enable it to produce screws with external washers," Vittoriano mentioned. "The addition of these new machines also allows us to shorten delivery times and produce carbon steel and stainless steel parts."

The Calabritto plant also has a raw material warehouse with more than 3,000 tons stored on site, as well as the wire blasting and polymerization department, the polishing department, the packaging department and the inspection laboratory.

Quality is Bontempi Vibo's top priority-all three production plants have an integrated system. "Bontempi stands for quality and is recognized in the market for this commitment. This is one of the main advantages we have-the importance of high-quality products lies in the product itself," Vittoriano proudly said.

Bontempi provides standard and special parts for many safety-critical applications, and customers need in-depth documentation and specifications. Therefore, it is critical for Bontempi Vibo to invest in a new MES to ensure a consistently high-quality approach. "The new MES organizes all production data, quality specifications and manufacturing information into a central system," Vittoriano explained. "The system also enables customers to receive real-time updated inventory information and access to'virtual inventory'."

The company can also arrange for end-user visits to gain recognition as a quality supplier. "Industry such as the nuclear industry requires us to cooperate with end users from the design stage of customizing key components. Our goal is clear," commented Raoul Bontempi, "Quality, Quality, Quality."

Vittoriano added: "We must now also focus on Industry 4.0. This philosophy will allow us to continue to develop and make our products more popular. For us, the products we sell are screws and our services. It is A complete package to meet the needs of our customers."

"Bontempi Vibo has many opportunities to invest not only in our operations, but also in our people and services. We are open to all possibilities and we will continue to grow. In another 10 years, we will still be here, we Will be stronger than today-whether through our product offerings or our global influence. It is an exciting time for us at Bontempi Vibo."
